CIFSC is proud of its coaching staff and the variety of skills they bring to our Figure Skating Club.  Our coaching staff has many years of experience with competitive skating, Moves in the Field, Dance, Synchronized Skating and more for all levels of skaters!  We have the Coach that fits your needs!


Kelli Pellini

  • 20 years coaching experience in Pre-preliminary through Gold Level Freestyle and Moves in the Field Tests.
  • Consistently attends trainings to stay current on techniques. Most recently completed a 5-month long Coaching Cohort program specializing in jump technique and coaching business practices.
  • Performed in professional ice shows including stage shows in Hong Kong and the US, and touring shows such as Disney on Ice for 15 years. Roles included: Principal Adagio understudy, Line Captain and Featured Adagio step-out.
  • Registered USFS Basic Skills Coach
  • Former ISI Bronze Judge
  • Coached athletes through many tri-state and local competitions.
  • Graduated Summa Cum Laude from West Chester University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies

Lisa Brown

Lisa Brown

  • 1993 U.S.Collegiate Figure Skating Champion in Junior Ladies Freestyle and Junior Ladies Figures
  • South Atlantic Regional Competitor and Novice Ladies Eastern Alternate
  • Trained extensively under the following coaches of U.S. National and World competitors: Richard Callaghan, Diane Agle, Evy and Mary Scotvold and Robbie Kaine
  • 10 years coaching experience: teaching children & adults in group and private lessons; preparing skaters for USFS Freestyle and Moves in the Field tests, choreographing programs for competitions and shows
  • PhD in Education and MA in Psychology

Melissa Hayes

Melissa has always had a passion for skating.  She was a regional competitor for 10 years and collegiate competitor for 4 years.  She has a gold medal in moves in the field and passed her junior free.  Melisa trained at the University of Delaware and received her bachelors degree from there.  After graduating she started her professional skating career and traveled with ice shows for 8 years.  Some shows included Disney On Ice, Advanced Entertainment at Busch Gardens, Glacier Ice at Hard Rock Park, and Woodstock Ice Productions at Dorney Park.  She also worked on the production side as a line captain, performance director and company manager for several professional skating shows.  Skating allowed Melissa to travel to South East Asia, Australia, South America, Mexico, Europe and throughout the U.S.  Melissa has taught toddlers up to adults ranging in skill level and discipline for 10 years.

Codie Hazen

  • 2019 Novice Men’s Collegiate National Champion, 2-time Eastern Great Lakes Regional Silver Medalist, 2-time Midwestern Sectional Competitor
  • Recently returned to the area to coach after performing in Feld Entertainment’s Disney on Ice Let’s Celebrate tour from 2021 – 2023
  • 2020 graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science and a Coaching Science minor and is a Certified Personal Trainer
  • Member of USFSA, PSA, and ProSkaters
  • USFSA gold medalist and trained under  Olympians and International coaches including Viktor Pfeifer, Ronnie Biancosino, and Irina Romanova
  • While Codie specializes in jump technique, general freestyle, off-ice, and basic skills, he hopes to share his passion of figure skating and help students of all ages achieve their goals while contributing to a supportive and committed training environment
  • Codie is also available for consultation in building spins and jump layouts to maximize IJS scoring potential

Julia Jones

Julia has over a decade of skating experience, with extensive training in freestyle, moves, and ice dance. In 2019, she became a USFS Moves in the Field gold medalist. She has since shifted her focus to ice dance, where she trains at the international level with her coach/partner Nicolas Buckland (3x Olympian for Great Britain). Supplementing her on-ice experience, she has also studied dance histories and dancing anatomy at university. Julia’s coaching style focuses deeply on technique and artistry, with attention given to everything from power skating to hand positioning!

Joanne Yates-Trojansky

Joanne Yates-Trojansky

  • I have a long history with figure skating and have a love for the sport
  • I started skating at age 4 and started competing at the age of 6 in Singles and Pairs events
  • I competitively skated in Canada at the Preston Figure Skating Club and Champions Training Center, for 15 years under the direction of Kerry Leitch
  • I started coaching figure skating while still competing as an Amateur Coach at PFSC
  • As an adult, I became involved as the lead instructor of a local learn to skate hockey program
  • I moved to Pennsylvania in 2008, and in 2009 I became involved at Center Ice with the hockey programs and saw a need for a figure skating club and soon after started Center Ice Figure Skating Club (CIFSC). I sat on the CIFSC Board of Directors as Vice President until July 2023.
  • I am happy to teach all levels of figure skating – beginners through advanced, children through adults
  • I have a lengthy history with on-ice and off-ice training for figure skating and hockey
  • I love teaching Power Skating for both hockey and figure skating
  • I am a member of USFS – USFS Basic Skills and Figure Skating Instructor
